I enjoyed making notebooks last week so made a couple more.
notebook front
I used cream Lokta paper for the inside & made another book out of last weeks paper
I couldn't waste all the little snippets, the cut off corners, small jewels of color ( can you tell I like them?) so I started making some squares for cards, I thought, then decided I might put 3 of the squares together for a collage. I'll scribble some more & stitch.
Lovely sunny lunchtime between the gloomy clouds so I went up on the track behind our house to take pics of the Highland cows, inspired by Aileen
Just in time as they were taken off the hill mid afternoon. I hate to think where they were going.....
The first 2 pics are at the bottom of the hill where they low for their food. They lined up for me nicely, the babies, as they think anyone who's walking out there are going to feed them. Then they followed me up the track, they're fed up the way, thankfully behind the fence as you don't want to get too near those horns, especially with young near them. The amount of visitors who stop IN THE MIDDLE of a single track road, sometimes even on a 60 mph duel track road to take a photo & GO RIGHT UP TO THEM.......don't get me started!! Peeps don't seem to realise how you could get tossed or impaled by a slight turn of a head. I know it's not often but once would be enough for me! (sorry Aileen, I know they're cute little sweeties, really ;) they are in your wonderful pics, anyway!)
The last photo is for a sense of place, the water on the left is the bay in front of our house; what a fabulous place for us & the cows to live!

Very interesting artwork!
Lovely notebooks and gorgeous colours. I like the circles and the flash of light blue. Cute coos!
Nice pics of the cows, Emma, and your papers and notebooks are wonderful!
Your blues and golds are brilliant! Of course I love your circles!
While in Scotland I went up to the Highlands to see the Highly Coos and fell in love with them. Their shaggy fur and big brown eyes spoke to my soul somehow.
Oh oh, I want a cow fix! Time to for a drive in the country. xo
Gorgeous notebooks and papers, and the Highland coos are great my daughter loves their fringes...x
Gorgeous paper and I love your journals. That Lotka paper is absolutely gorgeous too! I just love those 4 legged beasts - are they Highland cattle?
They look a lot like a few that were being agisted on our previous property. Now we just have 8 Angora goats - so adorable and friendly.
I have so enjoyed my visit today Emma.
Have a great week ahead!
Hugs,
Suzy
I really like the addition of the light blue, it just lifts the spirits. More gorgeous books. Cute the cows may be but cuddly - definitely not.
Beautiful colours and the design is brill, just my cuppa tea! Suzy x
Great colour combination, works really well. Wonderful photographs of the cattle. Helen & Douglas House had a christmas card with a highland on it which I enjoyed sending this year.
Love to visit your blog. Nice pics and I love the colours choosen....
Wonderful colours Emma - your little notebooks are delightful, so vibrant.
I am always knocked out by your location, although I'm not sure I could cope with it myself. Your neighbours are handsome, I love their colours, but they definitely deserve treating with respect!
Lovin them bright papers Emma and the Lotka journal is fab. I love that paper, it's so crunchy! So much tooth...We have two highland cattle in our neighborhood. They always look prehistoric to me. Those horns are BIG...I would admire from a distance!!! Cute though, love their wet nose and big pink tongues. xox Corrine
